ADEME :
ADEME is the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l'Energie). Founded in 1991, it is a public institution jointly supervised by the French Ministries for Ecology, Sustainable Development and Territorial Development, and for Higher Education and Research. It is responsible for carrying out the government’s policies in 3 areas: waste management, energy management and air pollution reduction.
Agenda 21 :
A comprehensive plan of action for the 21st century developed at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Agenda 21 serves as a guide for implementing sustainable development. Its measures can be adopted on a global or local level, either by private companies or public institutions.
